Darren Gorman - HE President

Hello everyone! I’m Darren & I’m your new Higher Education President for the SU during the 2021/22 academic year.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has trusted me with this fantastic opportunity to be a voice for you and college as a whole. I am absolutely buzzing to meet as many of you in person as soon as our current crazy world allows us to!

I have attended B&FC since 2019 completing an access course before moving onto a BA Hons degree in English Literature, Language & Creative Writing, in which I am now entering my second year. Last year I served as Vice President for Blackpool School of Arts and felt running for President was another step forward for this year.

I am an avid comedy fan, and (attempt) to write comedy in my spare time. I am massive football fan & season ticket holder, but I’ll stop short of mentioning which team! My other passion is a bit more “geeky”. I'm a fan of wrestling and for the past while I have been training to learn how to wrestle, which is a lot more painful than I ever imagined!

I am looking forward to what the year ahead brings & I hope as your President working alongside the executive team we can move the SU forward and create “One College” for all B&FC students across all campuses.
